Sustainable mobility has numerous advantages: it reduces congestion, traffic noise and energy consumption, it improves air quality and quality of life for the local population, it creates more green spaces in public areas. Increasing sustainable mobility reduces car dependency, boosts freedom in the choice of transportation and reduces the costs of mobility both for individuals and for society as a whole.

The VCÖ Mobility Award is Austria’s largest competition for sustainable transport and mobility and is carried out in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).
